As you may have figured out, I’ve had some trouble with the site for a while. We lost the database server and had corrupted backups. About 98% of the posts were recovered and I’m not yet sure which are still missing. I know that at least some of the links to downloads are broken and it may be all of them. If you had a username and password, those will be changed. I’ll keep you posted on new login credentials.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I should be back up and posting soon.
It’s good to have you back, even if you’re limping a little.
Hi, Sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble. Whilst you were gone I was directed to your archive for some bits that I really needed to complete for work. Fortunately the Wayback machine (web.archive.org/) had trawled the articles I needed. Its not foolproof but perhaps you will be able to get the lost articles back from there?
Good luck
M
Welcome back.
Cheers,
B
Good to see you’re back Dick!
This must be one of the more active posts from the archive: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:DnFm_e1ALZYJ:www.dicks-blog.com/archives/2004/06/03/external-data-mixed-data-types/+/external-data-mixed-data-types&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk
Welcome back! If you haven’t already done so, I would install the WP-DBManager plugin. It automatically creates backups at an interval you choose, and can email them to you and/or store them on the server.
Welcome back, Dick. Love your work. Great blog. Regards, Pete
Good to see you back,
Jennifer
And I thought that I was the only one who remembered what a Wayback machine is (was?).
Welcome back!
Glad to hear that you recovered most content. I suggest enrolling for Vaultpress. It costs $15 per month and saves you from headaches like this.
Great to have you back. I dont normally post, but it seemed kinda weird not being able to view anything on here.
I did like the error message though, about the funeral arrangements :-)
