It’s time for another weekend forum at DDoE. Dick is probably kicking back at the lake again, so it’s up to me to get things started.
Post whatever you want here. If you can’t think of anything, how about some Excel humor. Back in the days when I actually kept up my Web site, I had a section called Spreadsheet Jokes.
How about some new additions to VBA Humor? Stuff like this:
- Dim Lotus(1 To 3)
- Dim Mouthful as Byte
- Dim Rope as String
- If IsNull(Warranty) And Void Then BuyaNew1
- Heart = Val(Entine)
- Lonely = Left(Out, 1)
- Map = Rand(McNally)
And, with Excel 2007’s expanded grid, the Famous Cells and Ranges section should have lots of possibilities. Some old ones:
- A1 – The steak sauce cell
- IM21 – The legal drinking age cell
- K9 – The dog cell
- AK47 – The assault weapon cell
- IV2 – The second intravenous solution cell
- B9 – The malignant cell
- HI5 – The alternate handshake cell
- AH:HA – The discovery range
Have at it.
OU812: VanHalen album cell
NE1469: Ron Jeremy’s favorite cell
Thanks again for picking up the slack John. Or for picking up the slack again, I should say. Unfortunately, I stayed in town this weekend. I did manage to get out and play golf yesterday. I have a terrible case of tendinitis in my elbow, so it wasn’t enjoyable. Oh yeah, it was 58 degrees and raining, so it was really not enjoyable. The normal high is 81 degrees and I think we got up to 68.
CRE8: The innovation cell.
For those of you that panned my trivia question (and many offline people panned it as well), I’m waiting for a better one. The only music I know is rock from 1965 to 1980, so outside of that range I’m no good. Google is fair game, so you need to come up with a question that’s not google-able.
Finally, why does my spell checker want to spell tendonitis (google = 143,000) as tendinitis (goole = 1.7m). Changing ‘o’ to ‘i’ seems strange to me.

Hi Dick…
Because:In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is…
Tendonitis (also tenonitis or tendinitis) is an inflammation of a tendon. For example, patellar tendonitis (jumper’s knee) is an inflammation of the patellar tendon, which connects the tibia to the patella.
As explained at Wikipedia…
Doco –
You sound like my father. While there’s a lot of noise, there’s a lot of good music too, better than a lot of crap from the late 60s and early 70s (and 80s – ugh!).
