Neil points out that vbCompareMethod is not a valid type in Excel 97. He’s of course referring to the terribly buggy Replace97 function. Since this function is specifically written for 97, you’d think the author would test it in 97. I thought I did (no, really) but when I paste it in I get an error, namely:
Automation Type not supported in Visual Basic.
Anyway, it’s been changed to use the Long data type. If you’re relying on this function, you’re probably getting pretty worried. This has to be the last bug (but tell me if you find another).
