The right answer is Piston offset  (option C)

This term refers to the piston wrist pin being a bit offset to the side of the piston, not in the center of it.

This is done because it alleviates the stress caused in the rod when it gets to the top or bottom dead center. For the pole does not have to slam the piston up then backs down. The rod travels more in curve.
