How much heat is absorbed by 60 kg of copper (c=385 J/kg K) when it is heated from 10C to 60 C?

The amount of heat absorbed by the metal copper can be directly solved using the formula:

Q = m c ΔT

Q = 60 kg * 385 J / kg K * (60 – 10) K

Q = 1,155,000 J = 1.155 MJ
