Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, was known as the "Paris of South America". At a time when Argentina was exceptionally wealthy, they looked to Europe, specifically Paris, for inspiration when building various landmarks and buildings. Though they have their own vibrant and lively culture, everything has a Parisian "flavor" to it.
