A student says that the algebraic expression 5 x 7 can also be written as 5 7x. is the student correct? explain.

So basically WHERE DID THE x COME FROM anyway ??? 
5 * 7 = 35
but
IT DOES NOT EQUAL TO
57x
It might be true depending on what the x value is, but you dont know what the x value is so ...
