Neptune is eighth the farthest planet from the Sun. It is about 2.8 billion miles (4.5 billion km) away. Neptune appears to look blue because of the gas in its atmosphere. Neptune has at least 14 known moons. Triton is Neptune's largest moon. Triton has volcano-like eruptions that burst from openings in the surface.
